Recipe Ingredients for chocolate crispies 1

4 oz sugar
4 oz margarine
4 tablespoons golden syrup
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
4 oz rice crispies

Recipe Directions for chocolate crispies 1

  1. prepare your bowl/dish by lightly smoothing margerine all over it so the crispies don't stick.

  2. melt the margerine and sugar in a large pan.

  3. add the golden syrup (heating the spoon first helps it to run off easily).

  4. sieve in the cocoa powder.

  5. stir in all ingredients and let it buble for up to a minute.

  6. Add the rice crispies, turn the heat off immediately, and stir in as quickly as possible (if you wait it goes soggy).

  7. As soon as it looks even (less than 30 seconds stirring) turn the whole thing out into the dish/bowl.

  8. Leave to cool. (tastes lovely whilst still hot but high risk of burning your mouth!)

  9. The crispies should set so it is still goey but you can pick up chunks. If it has set hard you need to use less sugar, if it is too runny/oily you need to use less margerine.

  10. The amount of rice crispies used is down to personal choice, the more you use the less rich it will be. Likewise the more cocoa used, the more chocolatey the taste.
