Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup light margarine
1/2 cup apple sauce
3/4 cup splenda
3/4 cup light brown sugar
4 egg whites
1 pinch cinnamon
2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups dark chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, apple sauce, white and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in a pinch of cinnamon .Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until light brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
