Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Cookies

4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups butter
1/2 cup apple sauce, no sugar added
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
9 tbsp milled flax seed
12 oz HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer until creamy.

  3. Mix flax seed with 9 tbsp warm water add. Add egg; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tsp onto ungreased cookie sheet.

  4. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 10 dozen cookies.
