With 4 scoops vanilla and 4 scoops chocolate whey protein powder, tons of flax seed, plus toasted walnuts, semi-sweet chocolate chips and a dash of cinnamon, this fun new protein bar is packed with more protein and offers an alternative to the peanut, for a delicious dose of variety.

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Extra Protein bars

1/2 c ground flax seed
6 1/2 cups quick oats
1/2 cup walnuts
8 scoops whey protein powder
3/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup corn syrup
2 tbsp honey

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Extra Protein bars

Sprinkle 11/14 cookie sheet with semi- or bittersweet chocolate chips. Grind dry ingredients in food processor. Nuts, honey, and corn syrup while processor is still running. Knead, if necessary, until dough is well mixed and consistent in texture. Press dough in pan onto the chocolate chips. Roll flat with rolling pin. Cut into bars with large chef's knife; measuring with ruler helps. Place in snack baggies and freeze or refrigerate. Great post-workout snack with all you need to refuel lost glycogen and protein stores needed to rebuild muscle and re-energize!
