Delicious chocolate chip brownies - but low fat!

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Brownies - Adapted

230 g Applesauce
150 g Dark Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
16 g Dried Egg Whites
120 ml water
5 ml Vanilla Extract
40 g Cocoa Powder
120 g Whole Wheat Flour
5 g Salt
5 g Baking Powder
100 g Dark Chocolate, chopped into chunks

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Chip Brownies - Adapted

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and line an 9 inch square pan.

  2. Reconstitute egg whites with water and in a large bowl, mix with applesauce, sugar and vanilla. Sift in cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in chocolate chunks. Spread batter into prepared pan.

  3. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

  4. Cut into 18 triangles and cool on a wire rack.
