Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Carmelita Bars

1 3/4 cups quaker oats (old fashioned, uncooked)
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 tbs water
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup caramel topping
1/4 cup all purpose flour

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Carmelita Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350F

  2. Grease 13X9 inch baking pan.

  3. Combine first 7 ingredients. Mix well

  4. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining onto bottom of prepared pan.

  5. Bake 10-12 min. or until light brown

  6. cool 10 min.

  7. Top with nuts and chocolate pieces.

  8. Mix caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour until smooth.

  9. Drizzle over chocolate pieces to within 1/4 inch of pan edges.

  10. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.

  11. Bake additional 18-22 min or until golden brown.

  12. Cool completely
