Mom's recipe for chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, modified for using turbinado sugar.

Recipe Ingredients for Cho-oat-chip cookies

1/2 T molasses
1 3/4 c turbinado sugar
1 c salted butter
2 eggs
2 T milk
2 t vanilla
1 3/4 c flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
2 1/2 c quick oats
12 oz chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Cho-oat-chip cookies

  1. Combine molasses and 1/2 cup turbinado sugar in measuring cup (this is your brown sugar substitute). Set aside.

  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in small bowl. Set aside.

  3. Cream butter and sugars together for 3 mins.

  4. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk to butter mixture. Mix well after each addition.

  5. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.

  6. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

  7. Drop by rounded spoonfull onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

  8. Makes 36 cookies
