Honduran style chismol is a condiment usually served with grilled meats, but also goes well with other dishes. It makes for a delicious salsa.

Recipe Ingredients for Chismol

2 medium white onions
4 Roma tomatoes
2 medium green bell peppers
30 sprigs cilantro (may be adjusted depending on tastes)
4 tbl lemon juice
2 tbl white vinegar
1 salt (optional) to taste

Recipe Directions for Chismol

  1. Finely chop onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and cilantro.

  2. Mix together in large bowl.

  3. Add lemon juice, vinegar, optional salt, and mix.

  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
