Replication of Ralph's Market's awesome salad. You can serve it with chicken, too, if you like.

Recipe Ingredients for Chinese Sesame Salad

8 cups green cabbage, shredded into bite sized pieces
2 lbs ramen noodles
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tbls sesame oil (or more if you like)
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
3 large green onions, chopped
1 large carrot, shredded
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ginger

Recipe Directions for Chinese Sesame Salad

  1. chop up/shred your veggies and toss them together in a large bowl

  2. mix together the oils, soy sauce, garlic and ginger plus half of the flavor packets from the ramen in a cruet. Shake well. Now, if you're doing chicken, marinate it in the sauce until the outside turns brown, at least half a hour. I would use about 1lb of chicken breast meat for this recipe. If you're vegetarian, you're nearly done!

  3. Toss together the cabbage mixture with the cooled, toasted noodles, and the sesame seeds. Add the chicken if you like (I put mine in a small bowl for those who eat meat.) and then dressing and toss well to coat.

  4. If you like, you can eat it right away, though letting it chill for a few hours really does make it even better.

  5. I serve this as a meal, all by itself, and this amount will feed six people nicely, though if you have anyone as addicted to it as Gen is, you might want to consider it a meal for four. :)
