Simple Chinese soup recipe, excellent source of iodine, very good served hot or cold, often cooked in summer

Recipe Ingredients for Chinese Kelp Soup

100 grams Seaweed, Kelp
1 large Egg, Whole
1 medium (4-1/8" long) Onions, Spring Or Scallions

Recipe Directions for Chinese Kelp Soup

  1. Soak half hour and wash kelp well / cut into thin, long, manageable strips (like short spaghetti)

  2. Beat egg mixed with salt and a little black pepper if you like

  3. Boil kelp in 800 ml. water until cooked "al dente", then slowly add beaten egg to the soup; at the end, just before you turn off the gas, add the spring onion and a little salt if needed.
