Recipe Ingredients for Chinese Green Beans

2 lb green beans
1/8 tsp ginger
5 cloves of garlic
4 tbsp water
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Chinese Green Beans

  1. Wash and trim beans

  2. Slice fresh garlic cloves thin

  3. Steam or par-boil beans for 5 minutes in a covered pot

  4. Drain and plunge into cold water, drain again

  5. Coat a non-stick skillet with cooking spray and heat pan until hot

  6. Add sliced garlic and saute for 30 seconds

  7. Add beans and sprinkle in ginger, saute for 5 minutes

  8. Combine water, soy, oyster and hoisin sauces, along with cornstarch and sugar

  9. Stir well

  10. Add to beans, cook 30 seconds or until throughly heated, stirring occasionally (it will stick otherwise)
