Slow cooked tamales filled and topped with chilli.

Recipe Ingredients for Chilli Tamales

1 pound ground turkey
28 ounce pinto beans
10 3/4 ounce tomato soup
28 ounce diced tomatoes
2 tbsp chilli powder
2 cups corn meal
2 cups water
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp vegetable shortening

Recipe Directions for Chilli Tamales

  1. Cook ground turkey through.

  2. Add diced tomatoes and beans.

  3. Stir in tomato soup and chilli powder.

  4. Cook until thickens.

  5. In the meantime mix corn meal, water, baking powder, salt, and shortening.

  6. Spread tamale mix on parchment paper.

  7. Add chilli and wrap up tamales.There should be extra chilli left for topping.

  8. Cook in crock pot for 6 hours on high.
