Fantastic low fat, really filling and fantastic chili. **Note: This does not have any really spicy ingredients because I serve it to my toddler. Add in chili flakes or any other spicy ingredients you like.

Recipe Ingredients for Chilli - Beef & Bean

1 1/2 lb ground beef, extra lean
10 oz red kidney beans
10 oz Black Beans
30 oz crushed tomatoes, no sodium
1 cup,+pieces+or+slices mushrooms
1 small onion, minced finely
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup red wine

Recipe Directions for Chilli - Beef & Bean

  1. Saute ground beef in pan until pink has just left it.

  2. Add chili powder and other ground spices and let toast with the beef and beef fat until fragrant.

  3. Add tomato sauce to beef and continue cooking. *If you're using a slow cooker then add the sauce and beef to it at this point.

  4. Cook on low setting on stove top for at least an hour - preferably 2-3 hours. OR put everything in slow cooker and cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.

  5. Can have slice of garlic toast and dollop of sour cream/shredded cheese. (not included in recipe nutritional information)
