From the Better Homes and Gardens Children's cookbook circa 1978.

Recipe Ingredients for Chili

2 lb. beef, ground, 85% lean, crumbles
1 green pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1080 ml kidney beans
690 ml tomato sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Recipe Directions for Chili

  1. Brown ground beef with chopped onion and pepper. Drain off the fat.

  2. Add tomato sauce and salt, simmer 5 minutes on low.

  3. Add kidney beans and simmer until heated through.

  4. Add chili powder (add more if you like it spicy) and serve.
