Recipe Ingredients for Chili

26 oz garbanzo beans
26 oz black beans
35 oz kidney beans
4 tablespoons tomato paste
28 oz diced tomatoes
1 lb lean beef
10 oz chicken broth
1 white onion
1 green bell pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
6 cloves garlic
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp oregano

Recipe Directions for Chili

  1. Dice red pepper and onion and saute in oil for 4-5 minutes over medium high heat

  2. Crush garlic cloves onto the veggies.

  3. Push to the side and brown the meat (remove from casings).

  4. Push all to the side and cook the tomato paste for 1 minute.

  5. Stir in the paste, then add the seasonings and stir.

  6. Stir together and add the broth, deglaze for 1 minute.

  7. Add all the canned ingredients, tomatoes and beans. Drain but do not rinse the beans (not the chili beans, we want that flavor!).

  8. Simmer low for several hours or boil rapidly for 30 minutes.
