A mildly spicy turkey chili that is a healthy alternative to beef. This recipe makes 34 1-cup servings.

Recipe Ingredients for Chili with ground turkey & beans

41 oz lean ground turkey (93% lean)
4 med onions
1 T olive oil
1/2 T black pepper
1 1/2 T cumin
1/2 T garlic powder
2 T paprika
1/2 c chili powder
1 T chili powder
31 ounce red kidney beans
5/8 c red beans (1.5 c dry beans)
43 1/2 oz diced tomatoes
140 oz crushed tomatoes
1 t salt
1 t crushed red pepper
1/2 c black beans (1 c dry beans)

Recipe Directions for Chili with ground turkey & beans

  1. Dice onions and brown in 1 T olive oil in large saucepan

  2. Brown ground turkey in pan. Drain and move to large saucepan

  3. Place dried beans in 1 quarter of water and bring to a boil.

  4. Cook for 15 minutes. Add to large saucepan.

  5. Add tomatoes and spices.

  6. Simmer for 3 ? 4 hours
