I used organic beef for its beneficial properties (instead of ground turkey), and added vegetables.

Recipe Ingredients for Chili (beef, 13-bean, yams, vegetables)

3 1/2 serving Bob's Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix (1/2 cup)
2 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
3 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Green
500 grams Carrots
1 1/2 cup Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes
8 clove Garlic
4 serving ( 3 oz ) Beef, Ground, 85% Lean Meat / 15% Fat, Crumbles
4 tbsp Tomato Paste
6 teaspoons McCormick's Taco Seasoning
6 tsp Chili Powder
4 cup, cubes Yam

Recipe Directions for Chili (beef, 13-bean, yams, vegetables)

  1. Soak the beans overnight, drain the water, then add more water. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes to soften.

  2. Brown the beef

  3. Dice the vegetables

  4. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker
