In my defense, these amounts are very much an ESTIMATE of what I put in...I never measure when cooking in that stock pot (I'm pretty sure I put more than 3T of Sriracha and a little Tony Cachere's). Anything goes! So taste often and add what you like! :) Also: Not meant to be a low calorie meal for me. It was meant to be cheap, use what I had in the fridge/pantry, and to feed my household of three and have plenty of leftovers for the next day or two!

Recipe Ingredients for Chili & Beans

2 1/2 lbs Ground Beef
1/2 lb Red Beans
1/2 lb Pinto Beans
5 c Water
1 small Onion
1 T Salt
1 t Pepper
1 t Cumin
1 t Garlic Powder
8 oz Tomato Sauce
3 T Sriracha

Recipe Directions for Chili & Beans

  1. I used dry beans, so first I quick soaked them:

  2. Cover dry beans with water, bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes, remove from heat and allow to soak for 1-1.5 hours.

  3. Put beans in a stock pot, adding more water to cover if needed.

  4. Add desired Spices to the beans and bring everything to a low simmer for about 45 minutes.

  5. Brown your ground beef and add it to the pot.

  6. Continue to simmer until it reaches the desired consistency.

  7. Serve hot with crackers!
