Recipe Ingredients for Chiles Rellenos Casserole

16 oz Ground Turkey, 93% Lean
1 cup, chopped Onions
1.75 tsp Cumin
1.5 tsp Oregano
0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
0.25 tsp Salt, Table
0.25 tsp Pepper, Black
8 oz Green Chiles
1 cup, diced Cheddar Cheese
1 cup Corn, Sweet, Yellow
0.33 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
0.25 tsp Salt, Table
1.33 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat
0.13 tsp Sauce, Ready-to-serve, Pepper, Tabasco
2 large Egg, Whole
2 large Egg, White

Recipe Directions for Chiles Rellenos Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook turkey and chopped onion in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Remove from heat; add cumin and next 4 ingredients. Stir until well combined. Set Aside.

  3. Arrange half of green chiles in an 11 X 7-inch baking dish, and top with 1/2 cup cheese. Spoon mounds of turkey mixture onto cheese, and spread gently, leaving a 1/4 inch border around edge of dish. Top with corn. Arrange remaining chiles over corn, top with 1/2 cup cheese.

  4. Combine flour and salt in a bowl; gradually add milk, hot sauce, eggs, and egg whites, stirring with a whisk until blended. Pour over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes or until set; let stand 5 minutes.
