Easy recipe with a great flavor. Use one can each of the beans and even better.

Recipe Ingredients for Chile Con Carne

2 T Olive Oil
2 lbs beef, ground, lean
2 cups onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 1/2 cups beans, red, kidney, pinto, or black, drained
3 1/2 cups Tomatoes, crushed, 29 0z. can
14 oz. Salsa, Thick and Chunky
1/2 cup wine, dry white
1/2 cup Green Chiles, Diced-4 0z can
3 T Chili Powder
4 oz. Chipotle Peppers,
1 T cumin, ground
1 T oregano, dried, crushed
2 t salt

Recipe Directions for Chile Con Carne

  1. Heat oil in large pot. Add beef, onions and garlic. Cook 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in ALL other ingredients and bring to boil, reduce heat to low, cover anad simmer for one hour, stirring frequently.

  2. Serving size is approximately 9 1/2 ozs. and has an energy density of one.
