Recipe Ingredients for chilacas

1 onion
4 tomatoes
4 bell pepper
1 cup grated cheese
1 garlic clove
1 tsp vegetable oil for frying

Recipe Directions for chilacas

  1. coarsely chop whole onion and brown

  2. add in 1 finely chopped garlic

  3. add in chopped bell peppers and cover

  4. continue to stir, when chiles are soft add in chopped tomato

  5. re-cover for a few minutes allowing for tomato to cook.

  6. turn off heat and top with grated cheese allowing for steam to continue softening tomato and chiles and melting the cheese.

  7. serve in burrito style alone or with mexican rice and beans as a side.
