Recipe Ingredients for chicken tortilla soup

8 cups chicken broth
14 oz roasted chicken breast
14 oz canned tomatoes
10 oz refried beans
3 medium carrots
1 cup chopped celery
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 onion, small
1 tbsp dried oregano
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for chicken tortilla soup

  1. saute onion and garlic in a little of the broth

  2. add oregano, salt, and pepper

  3. add tomatoes, beans, veggies and rest of broth, and bring to a simmer

  4. add chicken (pre-roasted/cooked) and let cook on low for an hour

  5. stir in chopped cilantro

  6. add avocado and cheese if you like.
