Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Tortilla Soup

1 onion (medium)
2 cups peppers (frozen)
2 cloves garlic
1 tbs vegetable oil
3 tbs flour
8 oz chopped green chilis
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
8 oz chicken breast
4 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cups chunky salsa (1.25 cups)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 2/5 cups corn (2 cups frozen)
6 11/20 oz tortilla chips (7oz)

Recipe Directions for Chicken Tortilla Soup

  1. Cook up the onion, peppers and garlic in spray oil.

  2. Add the oil and flour. Mix and cook for a minute or two.

  3. Add 3/4 cup broth and boil. Add another 3/4, etc. until you use all broth.

  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes at least.

  5. Put one ounce of tortilla chips in each bowl and a serving of soup on top.
