Delicately spiced traditional Indian dish

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Tikka

5/8 cup fat free plain yogurt
1 tbsp fresh ginger root, grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp coriander seeds, ground
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/2 lbs chicken breast, cubed
1 onion
2 tomatoes

Recipe Directions for Chicken Tikka

  1. Mix all the ingredients expect the chicken, onion and tomato. Drop the chicken in marinade, cover and leave in the refrigerator overnight.

  2. Soak 4 wooden skewers in water overnight.

  3. Thread the chicken onto the skewers and cook under a preheated broiler for 5-6 minutes, turning frequently.

  4. Garnish with sliced onion and tomato.
