Recipe Ingredients for chicken tikka masala

14 1/2 oz diced tomatos
3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 tbsp garam masala
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Recipe Directions for chicken tikka masala

  1. Pulse tomatoes in food processor until coarsely ground. Pat chicken dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat until just smoking. cook chicken until browned all over, about 5 minutes. Transfer to plate

  2. Add onion to empty skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garam masala, garlic, ginger and cook until gragrant, about 30 seconds. Add tomatos and bring to a simmer. REduce heat to medium low, cover, and cook until slightely thickend, about 3 minutes.

  3. Stir in cream and browned chicken along with any accumulated chicken juices, and simmer until sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in cilantro. SEason with salt and pepper, and serve.
