Chicken and potato stew made in the slow cooker

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken and Sweet Potato Stew

3 lbs Boneless Skinless chicken breast
1 lbs baby red skin potatoes
2 1/2 lbs yams
1 lbs yellow onions
4 stalk celery
1 lb carrots
4 c Chicken broth
1/4 c flour
1 serving white cooking wine
4 tblsp corn starch

Recipe Directions for Chicken and Sweet Potato Stew

  1. layer potatoes and rest of the vegetables on the bottom of the slow cooker (7.5 quart). Add seasoning as desired (salt,pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, cinnamon).

  2. coat chicken chunks (cut into 1 in. pieces) in flour and any other season (salt, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, etc)) and put on top. May consider browning in pan with flour, but may be unnecessary.

  3. add 3 cups of chicken stock and a little bit of white cooking wine

  4. Think about adding a little bit of tomato paste to the liquid if desired.

  5. Add seasoning to taste such as pepper, basil, oregano, thyme, sage

  6. Cook on low for ~10-12 hours

  7. If like it thicker, remove a little bit of the liquid and mix in cornstarch, and mix back into slow cooker. Remove lid and cook on hi for another 30-60 mins
