Chicken Stew with Root Vegetables

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Stew with Root Vegetables

10 thigh, bone removed Chicken, Thigh
4 tbsp Rendered Chicken Fat
0.5 cup, chopped Onions
3 cup diced Potato, Flesh And Skin
0.5 cup, chopped Carrots
1 cup, cubes Turnips
1/4 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
2 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Paprika

Recipe Directions for Chicken Stew with Root Vegetables

  1. Brown the chicken thighs in large pot or dutch oven. Remove chicken. Drain all but 1/4c of rendered chicken fat.

  2. Add onion and saute until golden. Add flour and cook roux until medium brown.

  3. Add remaining ingredients, including chicken.

  4. Add water to cover, bring to a boil, cover and simmer until chicken falls of the bone (about an hour).
