Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Potato Bake

1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onions
2 cups cooked diced chicken
2 cups cooked diced potatoes
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk or half-and-half
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup bread crumbs

Recipe Directions for Chicken Potato Bake

  1. Heat butter in a heavy skillet; sauté mushrooms and onions until tender and lightly browned.

  2. Stir in flour until dissolved. Gradually add milk, stirring and cooking until thickened. In a 1 1/2 quart lightly greased casserole, combine chicken, potatoes, and mushroom mixture, along with the salt and pepper.

  3. Mix bread crumbs with melted butter. Top casserole with bread crumbs.

  4. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
