Recipe Ingredients for Chicken in a pot

5 unit+yield+from+1+lb+ready-to-cook+chicken chicken thighs
5 chicken drumsticks
3 carrots
5 red potatoes
1 cup+slices parsnip
1 turnip
3 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
2 T oil
2 T fresh rosemary
2 tsp,+crumbled bay leaves
1 T fresh oregano
4 T flour
1 small onion
2 leeks
3 cloves garlic

Recipe Directions for Chicken in a pot

  1. brown chicken set aside, pull off skin when cool

  2. pour off all but 1 T fat

  3. add leeks and onion cook til tender

  4. add garlic cook 30 seconds

  5. add broth and bring to a simmer

  6. add vegetables and herbs (bay leaves should be whole not crumbled) simmer for 10 to 15 minutes

  7. add chicken and submerge in liquid

  8. put in 300 degree oven and cook 30 mins or until chicken is done take out of oven and remove bay leaves
