Modified! Use the Provolone in place of Puff Pastry, etc. as crust. Should make sure not too soupy. Can add 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk to broth, if wish. Recipe Ingredients for Chicken "Pot Pie"

2 cups of cooked chicken (or beef or pork)
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of tarragon
1/4 teaspoon of parsley
1/8 teaspoon of pepper
1/4 cup pearl onions, cooked
1/2 cup carrots (slices), cooked
1/2 cup potato, cooked, cubed
1/2 cup celery, sliced
1 cup mushrooms
1/2 cup green peas
5 servings Sargento Reduced Fat Deli Style Sliced Provolone Cheese

Recipe Directions for Chicken "Pot Pie"

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Beat nonfat dry milk and flour with water until smooth. Add salt, tarragon, parsley and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.

  2. Mix in chicken and vegetables.

  3. Spray casserole or bowls with nonstick spray.

  4. Pour into the 1 1/2 quart casserole. or individual bowls. Cover w/ cheese or puff pastry ("Place a puff pastry square over the top of each bowl, pressing lightly around the rim. Brush the pastry with the egg and water mixture: 1 egg + 1 Tbs water).

  5. Pierce/slice "crust" for steam vents.

  6. Place the four bowls on a baking sheet.

  7. Can also place slice cheese at bottom of pies.

  8. Bake at least 25 minutes or until golden and puffy.

  9. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
