15.803 oz Penne Dry
18 oz Chicken, Breast, Meat Only
2 tbsp Olive Oil
0.25 cup Butter
16 oz Heavy Whipping Cream Pasteurized Homogenized
0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Pepper, Black
1 cup Parmesan, Grated Cheese
3 oz Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Recipe Directions for Chicken and Penne Pasta Toss with Sun Dried Tomatoes

  1. 1 pound penne pasta

  2. 2 tbsp. olive oil

  3. 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1/4 inch strips

  4. 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

  5. 2 cups (1 pint) heavy cream

  6. 1 tsp. garlic powder

  7. 1/2 tsp. salt

  8. 1 tsp. black pepper

  9. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  10. 1 package (3 ounces) sun-dried tomatoes, reconstituted according to the package instructions and sliced

  11. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to the package directions; drain and set aside in a colander.

  12. In the same pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat; add the chicken and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes, or until no pink remains.

  13. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine the butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over medium heat.

  14. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, then reduce the heat to low and add the Parmesan cheese.

  15. Stir until smooth, then add the sun-dried tomatoes and heat through.

  16. Add to the chicken along with the pasta and heat over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, or until heated through and thoroughly combined, stirring constantly.
