By using whole wheat penne pasta the fiber is increased from 4.5 to 12.4. For a quick meal, pick up a precooked chicken from the market.

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Pasta Salad

1 pound whole wheat penne
3 cups chicken
2 shredded carrots
2 cups shredded Red cabbage
10 ounces frozen peas
1 red onion
1 Green pepper
1/2 cup Italian dressing
1 cup Ranch dressing

Recipe Directions for Chicken Pasta Salad

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and toss with Italian dressing. Set aside to cool slightly. Add the chicken and vegetables and toss. Stir in the ranch dressing, adding the amount you prefer. Chill. This colorful salad must be prepared in advance. You can use leftover chicken or just cook some extra chicken the night before.
