Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Paprikash, Slow Cooker

3 tbsp unsalted butter
24 oz chicken breasts
1 tbsp shallots
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 cup green pepper
12 oz chopped tomato, drained
4 oz greek yogurt
4 tsp flour

Recipe Directions for Chicken Paprikash, Slow Cooker

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When it foams, add the chicken and cook until just colored on both sides. Transfer to the slow cooker. Add shallots to the skillet and cook until softened. Add paprika. Add broth, deglaze. Pour broth into slow cooker. Add chopped bell pepper and tomato pieces. Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2-3 hours.

  2. Wisk together greek yogurt (or sour cream) and flour in small bowl. Remove a few tablespoons of the cooking liquid and stir carefully into the yogurt.

  3. Transfer chicken out of cooker. Leave cooker on High and add the yogurt to the liquid and whisk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Return chicken to the cooker. Turn cooker to LOW and cook for 10 minutes.
