Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Noodle Soup

4 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup carrot, chopped
1 cup celery,chopped
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
4 oz whole wheat pasta
2 cups cooked chicken, chopped

Recipe Directions for Chicken Noodle Soup

  1. Combine 4-1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth, 1 cup each chopped onion, carrot and celery, 1 tsp. each dried basil and oregano, and 1/4 tsp black pepper; bring to boil.

  2. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.

  3. Add 1-1/2 cups whole wheat pasta. Cover and simmer 8 minutes.

  4. Add 2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast. Makes 4 servings.
