Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Noodle Romanoff

8 oz egg noodles
2 pounds chicken breasts
8 oz fat free cream cheese
21 1/2 oz cream of chicken soup
1 small onion chopped
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup fat free sour cream

Recipe Directions for Chicken Noodle Romanoff

  1. Place chicken in a pan and add enough water to cover the chicken. Bring to a boil then turn heat down to low and simmer uncovered till chicken is cooked (about 1 hour). While chicken is cooking, combine cream cheese, soup, onion, garlic powder and salt in a medium size pan. Warm together over medium heat to melt cream cheese. Once cream cheese is melted, remove from heat and add sour cream. Set aside. When the chicken is done cooking remove chicken from the water and let cool. Do not throw out water; use it to cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain noodles and add to cream cheese mixture. Cut up chicken into small bit size pieces and add to cream cheese mixture. Pour and spread into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until bubble.

  2. This may be made ahead of time and frozen for up to 3 months. Do not cook in over if you are going to freeze it. Let thaw 24 hours in refrigerator before cooking.
