Recipe Ingredients for Chicken a la King

2 tsp butter
1/2 cup onion, diced
1 tsp flour
1/2 cup 2% milk
6 ounces chicken, cooked and diced
1/2 cup frozen mixed vegetables or peas
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp. salt

Recipe Directions for Chicken a la King

  1. In skillet, heat butter until hot.

  2. Add onion and saute.

  3. Sprinkle flour over onion and stir quickly to combine.

  4. Gradually stir in milk and stir constantly.

  5. Bring to a boil.

  6. Reduce heat and let simmer until mixture is thickened.

  7. Stir in remaining ingredients and cook until thoroughly heated.
