Creamy chicken that is delicious served over rice, noodles, or potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken a la king

1/4 c butter
2 c mushrooms, sliced
2 c cooked chicken
1/4 c green pepper, diced
1/4 c pimento
2 c chicken stock
1 c milk
3 T flour
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Chicken a la king

  1. Melt butter in large skillet. Saute mushrooms until tender. Add chicken, green pepper, and pimento. Heat through.

  2. Combine chicken stock, milk, flour, salt and pepper. Pour over chicken mixture and bring to a low boil. Sauce will thicken in several minutes.

  3. Just before serving, add egg yolks.
