My Mother's recipe for habachi-styled teriyaki chicken and fried rice

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken and Fried Rice


Chicken:
4 cups diced chicken breast
1/4 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp. margarine
1 tsp. chopped garlic

Rice:
4 cups rice
2 cups mixed vegetables (cooked)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. sesame seeds
1/4 tsp. pepper

Recipe Directions for Chicken and Fried Rice

  1. Boil rice until fully cooked

  2. Meanwhile, in a large frying pan, combine chicken, teriyaki sauce, margarine, and garlic and sautee until fully cooked (approximately 15 minutes)

  3. After rice is cooked, add to a wok and combine with vegetables, soy sauce, butter, sesame seeds, and pepper

  4. Fry rice until it is browned and steaming

  5. Scoop 1 cup rice on a dish and top with chicken. Take extra pan sauce from the chicken and drizzle over the chicken and rice for some extra flavor.
