Recipe Ingredients for Chicken and Dumplings

1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp shortening
3/4 cup Non Fat milk
1 lb chicken
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp chicken bouillon

Recipe Directions for Chicken and Dumplings

  1. Combine chicken, bouillon and garlic in a large pot.

  2. Add enough water to almost cover chicken.

  3. Boil for 35-45 min or until chicken is almost done.

  4. Dumplings:

  5. Mix baking powder, flour and salt well.

  6. Cut in shortening until crumbly.

  7. Stir in milk until just combined.

  8. Drop by tbsp into boiling pot of broth and chicken.

  9. Cook 10 min uncovered then cover and cook another 10 minutes.
