Recipe Ingredients for chicken and dumplings

1 1/2 lbs chicken, shredded
1/2 onion, diced
3 carrots, sliced
4 stalks celery, sliced
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup water
1 salt
1 pepper

Recipe Directions for chicken and dumplings

Cover with water and boil 1 whole (3 lb) chicken and then let cool. Shred 1/2 of the chicken and return to pot of broth after defatting. add onion, carrot and celery and let cook until vegetables are tender. Thicken soup with flour and water mixture. prepare heart smart bisquick dumpling and follow directions. Serve over rice
