Recipe Ingredients for Chicken and dumplings

1 1/2 c. roasted chicken, meat only
3 c. water
1 medium onion, diced
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
1/4 tsp. black pepper
2 c. mixed vegetables, frozen
1 c. flour
1 tsp. parsley (optional)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Chicken and dumplings

  1. In a large pot sautee the onion in the olive oil.

  2. Add chicken, water, onion, basil, 1/2 tsp. salt, marjoram, pepper and vegetables. Bring to a boil.

  3. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients. Once boiling reduce heat and drop the batter by spoonfuls onto the soup, should be about six.

  4. Cover in simmer 10-12 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted into a dumpling comes out clean.

  5. Enjoy!
