Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Cordon Bleu

25 oz chicken breasts
5 slices swiss cheese
5 slices ham
1/4 cup flour
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup half and half
1/4 cup 1% milk

Recipe Directions for Chicken Cordon Bleu

  1. pound chicken breats flat, place 1 slice cheese, 1 slice ham on each. Roll up and secure with a toother pick.

  2. Mix flour & paprika, Place the flour mixture on a piece of wax paper and roll the chicken breasts until coated.

  3. Place 1 tsp butter or margarine and 1 tsp oil in a skillet over medium high heat and brown the chicken on all sides. Remove the chicken from the pan.

  4. Pour the wine and chicken broth into the pan and deglaze the pan, scraping all the brown bits off the bottom. Return the chicken to the pan and turn the heat down to simmer.

  5. Cover the pan and set the timer for 25 minutes.

  6. When the timer rings for the chicken, remove the chicken once again and add the milk and cream. Stir carefully for 1 minute.

  7. Return the chicken to the pan and simmer for 5 additional minutes.
