Low sodium, slow cooker chicken cacciatore

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Cacciatore

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast
2 large onions
3 cloves garlic
8 oz mushrooms, sauteed
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper, ground
30 oz diced tomatoes, low sodium
8 oz tomato sauce no salt added

Recipe Directions for Chicken Cacciatore

  1. Chop onions into 1/2 inch dice and put in bottom of slow cooker.

  2. squeeze garlic through press and add to onions.

  3. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and add to pot.

  4. Thickly slice mushrooms and saute until they give up their liquid.

  5. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

  6. Serve with egg noodles.
