Chicken breast smothered in sauteed mushrooms and onions, dripping in cheese, served with a side of rice pilaf and fresh steamed carrots for a healthy, low calorie dinner.

Recipe Ingredients for Chicken Ala Mushrooms

4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, cut into strips
1 tsp garlic powder
1 pepper to taste
1 salt to taste
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 onion, sliced thin
1 tsp olive oil
1 cup cheddar, shredded

Recipe Directions for Chicken Ala Mushrooms

  1. Add olive oil to skillet set to medium high heat. Season thawed breast tenderloins with garlic pepper and salt. Cook breast tenderloins in olive oil until lightly browned on all sides. Place cooked tenderloins in a glass baking dish.

  2. In same skillet, sautee mushrooms and onions until tender. Spread mushroom mixture evenly over tenderloins. Top with 1 cup marble cheddar shreds. Bake for 20 minutes in a 375 degree oven until cheese is melted and beginning to brown.
