Recipe Ingredients for Chicken ala King

1/2 cup chicken leg, diced
1 cup chicken thigh, diced
282 grams chicken tenderloins, diced
3 cups water
1/2 cup margarine
2/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup pimento, diced
6 ounces canned mushrooms
2 cups 2% milk

Recipe Directions for Chicken ala King

  1. Remove skin from dark meat. Put in a pan with 3 cups water, some celery and onion, to be strained off later, minced garlic. Stew chicken for 1 hour. After 1 hour add white meat chicken tenders. Cook another 39 minutes. Pull meat off bones.

  2. Melt margarine, add flour and salt. Mix well. Add milk and chicken broth (strained from stewed chicken) all at once. Cook stirring constantly yntil thick and bubbly. Add green peppers, chicken, mushrooms, and pimento. Stir and cook until green pepper is tender. Serve over toast or biscuits.
