Recipe Ingredients for chicago style deep dish homeage pizza

16 oz Mozzarella, Whole Milk Cheese
1.75 cup Rogers All Purpose Flour
1/4 cup Cornmeal
3 tbsp Olive Oil
0.7 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
2 tbsp Minced Garlic
0.5 oz Yeast
8 oz Country Sausage
1 portion ( yield from 1/2 lb raw meat ) Beef, Ground, 75% Lean Meat / 25% Fat, Crumbles
0.5 small Onions
310 grams Sun Dried Tomato Pesto Sauce and Spread
2 tomato Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
17 slices Sliced Turkey Pepperoni
2 cup Spinach

Recipe Directions for chicago style deep dish homeage pizza

  1. mix flour, cornmeal, 1tbs garlic and salt together

  2. measure hot water and put yeast in to activate for 10 minutes.

  3. pour water mixture and oil into dry ingredients and mix well.

  4. kneed dough slightly and let rise 30 minutes.

  5. brown sausage and hamburger meat together and mix well.

  6. saute onion and garlic together throwing the spinach in at the end to wilt a little.

  7. mist onion mixture with meat.

  8. in blender blend tomatoes until chunky and add the pesto and mix well.

  9. grate cheese.

  10. once dough has risen roll out to about 1/8 inch thick and put into a 2 inch high baking pan and let the dough come over the side a bit.

  11. next layer the ingredients in this order. half of the cheese, meat mixture with onions, rest of the cheese and top with pepperonis.

  12. next roll out excess dough and lay over pizza pie and pinch together with bottom crust to make a little ridge and cut a few breathing hols in the top.

  13. next pour tomato mixture over top of the pizza pie and bake at 400 for 30 mins untill crust is golden brown.
