Somewhat Healthier Chewy Granola Brown Sugar and Milk can be omitted, I did it for a sweeter more milk chocolate like taste, without it, it will be more like dark chocolate, which is just as good in my opinion. For a twist try using peanut butter instead of the hazelnut spread, same nutritional value.

Recipe Ingredients for Chewy Chocolate Hazelnut Granola

1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1 tbsp Chocolate hazelnut spread
2 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa powder
2 tbsp Imitation Vanilla
1 tbsp Coffee Creamer (Fat Free French Vanilla or Milk)
1 1/2 cups Rolled Oats
2 tbsp Splenda No calorie
1 tbsp Brown Sugar

Recipe Directions for Chewy Chocolate Hazelnut Granola

  1. Mix everything but the oatmeal in a pot and heat until warmed.

  2. Mix oats in slowly and mix until all oats are covered and the mixture is completely used up.

  3. Use non stick cooking spray on a pan or baking sheet and spread granola all over.

  4. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees and cook for approximately 15-20 minutes, make sure to turn or granola may burn.

  5. Cool in open area and then seal in air tight container

  6. Milk can be omitted, I did it to give it a more milk chocolate taste, it tastes good without it, I love adding it to a bowl of cereal like cheerios or special K
