A simple, yet lovely, spring dessert. Wonderful with yogurt for a special breakfast treat. Substitute your favorite seasonal fruits, fresh or frozen.

Recipe Ingredients for Cherry Pear Crisp

3 pears, diced
10 ounces cherries, frozen
1/2 cup flour, whole wheat pastry
1 cup oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cups walnuts, chopped
4 tbsp canola oil or walnut oil

Recipe Directions for Cherry Pear Crisp

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Mix fruit together in an 11 x 7 baking dish.

  3. Stir together flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon, & walnuts. Add walnut oil and mix well. Sprinkle topping over fruit.

  4. Bake in hot oven for about an hour or until pears are tender, topping in browned, & the kitchen smells fragrant.
