Snack made in southern India. Usually taken along with tea.

Recipe Ingredients for Chekkalu

2 cups Rice flour
40 g peanuts
40 g urad dal
1 tsp Salt
25 g Green chillies
100 g Oil for frying

Recipe Directions for Chekkalu

  1. Mix all the ingredients and knead it to a dough by adding enough water. Make lime size balls from the dough. Press the balls with the palms to make it flat.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry till golden brown. Fry more than one at a time. Store in an airtight container
