Recipe Directions for Cheeseburger with sweet potato oven fries

  1. To make fries: Preheat oven to 400 F. Coat a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Cut sweet potatoes into spears. Place in a large bowl, add oil and paprika, then transfer to baking sheet. Bake for 50 minutes, turning potatoes three times during cooking so they brown evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. To make burgers: Tear bread into pieces and place in a food processor. Process into fine crumbs, then transfer crumbs to a large bowl. Add garlic and mince. Add mushrooms and process until ground. Transfer mixture to bowl with crumbs. Add ground turkey, beef, egg, mustard, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Mix until well blended. Shape meat into six patties.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add burgers and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Place cheese over each burger, cover pan, cook over low heat until cheese is melted and serve on a whole-wheat bun.
